Being Friends With Your Ex Isn’t A Crime… Until You Make It So.

friends with an exThis post won’t be a lengthy one, it was just something on my mind, so I felt it should be added to 2¢.

Now I know this is somewhat of a TABOO subject, something most people won’t touch or just find wrong, but I don’t… I am friends with a few of my ex’s.

Call it what you will, but to some of us, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. I have no particular reason to continue a friendship with any of them. No kids, no sex, no money owed… I just choose to be friends with them. We don’t have great big outings with each other. We don’t even see each other on a regular. but being that both parties ended the show amicably, I see no reason we can’t continue speaking from time to time. There were times when old feelings resurfaced, but it’s up to you to keep them at bay. The crime comes once YOU DECIDE to engage those feelings and act on them.

Your ex is still a person you decided to befriend at the end of the day. If you’re able to continue being friends with that person in the end, then go for it. Don’t let the foolishness of society run your relationship with a person. After all, for some of us, society’s rules ended the love in the first place.
